“If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.”

Art and science are old friends. Once upon a time there were no
Windsor and Newton products to buy from the art shop shelves and artists
had to make their own pigments. This intimate relationship with
materials was based on a very magical relationship with the world. This
lecture will look at a variety of pigments that the artist made notably
ultramarine, the blue of heaven.
The lecture is free as is our delectable homemade cake and coffee.
Booking is not required but seating is limited and offered on a first
come first served basis.
