Eranos Sessions
Eranos is derived from the Ancient Greek word ἔρανος meaning "a banquet to which the guests bring contributions, a no-host dinner."
The Eranos sessions are themed upon the disciplines of Politics, Arts, Mysticism/Religion and Science. The sessions run once a month on Sunday afternoons and allow guests to discuss a central theme contained within a presented piece in an open, searching and non judgemental way. Guests are invited to bring an item of food to share along with their ideas and thoughts. This years Eranos Sessions have sparked lively discussions concerning the following documentaries/areas of knowledge:
Discipline Theme Description Art Leonardo da Vinci The life and works of one of the greatest figures of the Renaissance. Politics Global Warming Dealing with a particular perspective on the politics of climate change. Mysticism/Religion Mystical Egypt Egypt has a long and rich history.
