World Philosophy Day Celebration!

Saturday 19th November - Free Public Talks

Every year, the centres of New Acropolis around the world respond to the call of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to celebrate World Philosophy Day, which has been taking place every November since 2002.

The programs organised by the different countries that form part of New Acropolis International (OINA) have brought philosophy closer to many different kinds of audiences using a wide variety of media and an imaginative range of different events.

There are forums and discussions aimed at getting people to reflect on the close relationship that exists between philosophy and timeless values.

In New Acropolis Ireland we have planned a series of free lectures throughout the afternoon that aim to be both practical and inspirational. We would be delighted if you could join us. We will also have teas, coffees and homemade cakes for you to enjoy between lectures!

2.30pm: Plato for Today - Understanding the impact of Plato's ideas

4.00pm: Music & Art - An exploration of human creativity

5.30pm: How to Think by Ourselves - What do we need to be more independent, responsible and conscious?

6.30pm: Managing Self Through Change - A look at how we navigate through 21st century prefessional and personal change
